What do you really know about the River Avon? Beyond its familiar banks and bridges lies a river rich with stories, characters, wildlife and centuries of history - and now, Stan’s Cafe are inviting audiences to take a very different kind of journey along it.

Blending documentary storytelling, performance and a healthy dose of Stan’s Cafe’s trademark wit, River Tours: The Avon offers a fresh perspective on a river we may think we know - encouraging us to slow down, look closer and see the Avon through new eyes.

What can you expect?

For River Tours: The Avon, audiences gather around an extraordinary three-metre-long textile map of the river for a playful and fascinating journey from its source in Northamptonshire all the way to its meeting with the Severn at Tewkesbury.

Along the way, your guide will uncover unexpected stories, local folklore and glimpses into the everyday lives shaped by the river.

River Tours: The Avon is a 55 minute tour and is a beautiful and witty piece of documentary storytelling suitable for all ages.
