Love Theatre Week is here and what better way to celebrate than to highlight the vast array of theatre shows on our scheme this season!

We've got it all, from Victorian villains to modern sports heroes plus heartwarming romantic comedies, delightful children’s adventures and even an immersive bingo show with a deadly twist...

Whether it’s laughter, suspense or pure wonder, this week reminds us why taking a seat in the audience matters. So take a look at the shows below and treat yourself to a night out!

The Witch and The Egg

Nestled within her solitary existence, Susan is a cantankerous old witch whose world is turned upside down when she discovers an enigmatic giant egg. The question looms - should she eat it for breakfast or nurture it to life? Discover the transformative power of friendship and the beauty of stepping out of your comfort zone in this unforgettable show filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt emotion.

A brand new comedy about one of Shakespeare’s most unforgettable characters - Sir John Falstaff. Falstaff is down on his luck, but that doesn’t stop him from stirring up trouble. Set in the infamous Boar’s Head Inn, this fast-paced show follows the charming rogue as he tries to dodge debts, chase women and stay one step ahead of chaos.

WATSON - The Final Problem

A must-see for any Sherlock fan and fans of mystery crime dramas. Set in 1894, Watson is alone. His beloved wife Mary and the great Sherlock Holmes are both gone. But London seethes with false reports and rumour. It is time to set the record straight. There is a shadow in the gutters of London. A spider's web of poisonous intrigue lies across the city. Someone is playing a long game and Holmes and Watson face their greatest ever challenge.

Set in November 1942, the HMS Vanessa is detached from Convoy HX213 to join Convoy SC107, which faces devastating attacks from a wolfpack of U-boats over four days, resulting in the heaviest loss of ships from any trans-Atlantic convoy that winter. Gordon Collett, a 19-year-old from Sheffield, volunteers for the Royal Navy in 1940 to combat fascism and serves on the HMS Vanessa during these perilous times.

"I know this because I am his son, and I'm going to tell you his story," says Nicholas Collett.

Tommy Cooper was a true comic genius. His impeccable timing, love of slapstick and quick-fire gags made him an international star. Complete with his trademark fez and a plethora of misfiring magic, the man was an undisputed icon of live entertainment. Celebrating over 100 years of Tommy, this all-encapsulating show of magic, music and mirth is the perfect celebration of Britain's top comedian and features all of Tommy’s classic gags combined with lesser-known gems lovingly selected from his joke archive and extensive magic routines.

Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show

AWOL

Join us for AWOL, a feel-good adventure about two old men who escape from a care home to attend a metal festival. Cyril, who doesn't particularly like old people (despite being one!), learns that his estranged granddaughter Lily is about to have her big break with her thrash metal band, Abscess. Determined to support her, Cyril and his friend Neville embark on a journey that changes them forever.

A brand-new cricket themed comedy solo show written and performed by Tim Marriott (BBC TV's The Brittas Empire). Former professional cricketer Jack gives his team talk, but wickets fall like a ticking time bomb and the anecdotes from the ashes of his career prove less than inspirational! As Jack pads up to be the last man in to go out and save the day, Jack's Ashes offers a humorous insight into the mental frailties that can cloud the mind and the distractions that can lead to ruin.

It’s about growing up, breaking free, coming home and the unexpected places where we find meaning.

This captivating one-woman play shines a light on Tracey Neville’s untold story. Often overshadowed by her famous footballer brothers, Tracey finally steps into the spotlight to claim her own place in history, as a trailblazer for English netball. This powerful one-woman play, written and performed by actor Imogen Greenwood, takes audiences on an inspirational journey through Tracey’s life as both player and coach. Brought to life with authentic netball choreography and vivid storytelling, the show is rooted in community and female identity.

Step into a rousing celebration of song, struggle and solidarity with Behold Ye Ramblers. This vibrant production brings to life the voices of the Clarion movement — the cyclists, singers and ramblers who fought for the right to roam and the joy of the open air. Blending music, poetry and storytelling to re-enact the voices of the Edwardian pioneers who campaigned for access to the countryside, reminding us that this is still worth cherishing today.

Step into a world of glitz, grime and gripping suspense as your local hall becomes the dodgy Stairway To Heaven Social Club – faded sequins, sticky carpet… and bingo night. But this isn’t your gran’s bingo. It’s a high‑stakes comedy thriller where every ticket hides a secret, every number cranks the tension, and the audience is part of the action. Hosted by the flamboyant Bertie Bingo – aka Mr. Razzle Dazzle – the night begins with laughs, prizes and classic calls. Then a body turns up… and suddenly it’s down to you and your fellow players to crack the mystery.
