Your Live & Local Network

Brush stroke

Sharing the workload

The Live & Local network is a bit like a house buying chain with Promoters, performers, audiences and the office team forming the essential links. Like a housing chain, everything a particular “link” does (or doesn’t do!) can affect everyone else in the scheme – this includes the booking process, attracting the audiences, the reporting processes and coming along to Promoter get togethers. However, unlike most housing chains everyone in the Live & Local chain can help each other.

There are nearly 200 live and film Promoters on the Live & Local network across Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire so there is bound to be another venue near to you and therefore another Promoter with ideas, experience, a local network and an audience who like village hall shows!

Who are they?

We can provide a complete list of current promoters when we send you the annual Menu - alternatively you can call us to get the contact details of local Promoters who may have had a show you are considering.

Check out our listings on this site to find out which Live & Local shows are on at other venues and ask us for complimentary tickets to go along and make some friends. Our annual promoter get togethers are a good way to meet other Promoters as well.

Working together in other ways

Avoid clashes! Tell local schools and other organisations about your Live & Local promotion well in advance so that they choose a different date for their event

Why not share the work (and maybe the funds) by promoting shows in conjunction with a neighbouring venue - you help with their show and vice-versa.

Could they lend you their portable stage or vice versa?

Go and see shows at other Live & Local venues (we can arrange complimentary tickets for you through the office - see the 'Complimentary Tickets' section in this Handbook). When you’ve seen a show it’s a lot easier to tell people about it.

Live & Local can provide a list of venues and shows that we have had in the past. Please contact the office.
