Resources to Help You

Please visit the interactive Online Menu on our website. To help you choose your shows we have included details of the artists’ own websites along with links to music and video samples.

There are also links to a Sampler Video of some of the shows along with a slideshow of all of the shows.

Advice on choosing your show(s) is available on our Choosing Shows page.

If you need to contact another promoter to discuss bookings/clashes we can send you an up to date contact list. Please request one from the office.

Functions, Food and Bars

Live & Local does not provide financial support for ‘functions’.

The performance should be the principal purpose of the event, with any catering/bar arrangements, food prices and management of the event (including the start time, seating format and length of the interval) planned to provide the best opportunity for the artist to perform and the audience to enjoy the performance.

Seating Arrangements

Only shows marked ‘Tables’ can have the audience sat at tables and/or have food served as part of the event. This does not mean that a full meal is appropriate for the event.

If the event detail says “Theatre” this means rows of seats and a full meal is not appropriate catering for the performance.

'Tables' does not mean that the audience cannot be seated 'Theatre' style. However 'Theatre' does mean that the audience cannot be seated 'Tables' style.

These seating formats have been discussed and agreed between Live & Local and the artists to ensure the best interaction for the performance. The described seating format is a requirement of the subsidy that comes with the show. We reserve the right to charge the full cost of the show if this format is changed without permission from Live & Local.

Priority Shows

We often get asked how to guarantee to get more than one show. It is impossible to guarantee this as so many factors come into play. However two things that will give you an advantage are to offer performances days other than Friday and Saturday and to include shows that are priority shows marked as ** in the menu.

Requesting Shows

Using the online form provided you can request up to six performances from the current Menu for up until the end of the period covered by the Menu (usually Oct to May inclusive). We can't guarantee being able to subsidise additional shows to the same extent as your first show, if at all. This depends on the total level of demand for shows in each local authority area.

All shows should only appear once on your Request Form.

Promoters who bid for just one date for a show with no alternative dates will be given a lower priority and may end up without a show allocation.

All shows can also be requested at the 'Cost to Live & Local' fee detailed in the Menu. There is an option on the Request Form to indicate you are willing to discuss a less subsidised fee.

We may contact you to discuss a less subsidised fee for any of your shows if demand in your local authority area exceeds available funds to fully subsidise all requests from that area.

When you have decided which shows and dates to request, make sure these dates are reserved at your venue until you hear from us.

Please read the Additional Performances section for alternative fee structures which have been successfully used by Promoters in the past, enabling them to book additional shows.
