Stay Involved

Brush stroke

People have long memories and you can make the most of a great show to keep that community spirit going and make sure they're all primed and ready for the next one!

You want the people who were there to remember the great things about it and the people who missed it to really know that they missed out on a treat!

  • Leave the posters up for a few days with 'SOLD OUT' emblazoned across them or a quote from a satisfied punter. Even a quote that says: 'Thanks to everyone for coming - we had a great night!'
  • Ask someone who was at the show to write a short review for the local Parish Newsletter or, better still, a letter to the local newspaper, a letter / e-mail to your local councillor or even to your MP about how important Live & Local events are for your community.
  • Write a review yourself for the Live & Local blog to tell everyone else how well it went and e-mail it to us.
  • Did anyone take photographs at the show of the audience enjoying themselves? Get them up on display and send them to the local paper. Share them on the Live & Local Facebook page. Shout about it so people can see what they have missed!
  • When's the next show? If you haven’t got one, make sure you know when your nearest local Promoter has one so people have something to look forward to.
  • Keep dropping things into conversation to keep the show fresh in people's memories ('Wasn't that funny when they did' or 'Did you see George's face when they said…').

Going to other shows

If there are any Live & Local shows you would like to go and see then please give us a call. There are two complimentary tickets available for each show and if they haven’t already been allocated we will book them for you. This means that you can see shows or companies that you might consider booking next year or it could simply be that you want a night out and a chance to see the show!

Its a GAS scheme

Networking – more fun than it sounds!

Every Spring Live & Local organises Promoter get togethers. These take place in every county, in a village hall in a central location for a group of Promoters. They’re a chance for you and/or members of your committee to share ideas, pick people's brains and hear about new shows – and they’re also a good chance to socialise and to meet the Live & Local team face-to-face!

Our National Conference

The biggest event of the year for the National Rural Touring Forum (NRTF) is the annual conference. The conference is aimed at anyone with an interest in the provision of high quality professional arts promoted with, by and for rural and other communities.

Promoter Bursaries are available from the NRTF to enable voluntary Promoters with rural touring schemes to attend the conference. These are usually allocated on a first come, first served basis of one per rural touring scheme.

If you are interested in attending the conference then please check the NRTF website or contact the Live & Local office on 01926 402173.
