Administration: Event Support Fund

If your ticket sales (yield) do not cover our published minimum guaranteed fee*, you may be offered an opportunity to apply to our Event Support Fund for further support up to within 50% of this minimum fee.**

Further financial support for a Live & Local supported event is not automatic and generally isn’t given simply because sales were low. Generally you must demonstrate that your sales were low for reasons that fall within the following areas:

  • Circumstances beyond control of Promoter(s) (e.g. foot and mouth, floods, etc)
  • Unexpected change to personal circumstances of key organiser(s)
  • Unexpected major competition to the event (e.g. local school arranges event after you made your booking despite all your checks and pleadings!)

Any additional support that may be offered will usually be applied as a discount to the next Live & Local performance that you book.

If you are offered an opportunity to apply to the fund we would ask you write to us explaining your particular circumstances. In coming to a decision we will take into account your comments along with:

  • Whether or not this is you first Live & Local supported event;
  • Previous applications to the Event Support Fund;
  • Outcomes from past Live & Local events in the current year;
  • Potential outcomes from forthcoming events in the current year;
  • Whether the promoter has responded to our emails or calls requesting sales updates and/or raised any concerns about sales reasonably in advance of the performance date.

We will let you know our decision within seven days of receiving your letter. If you need to discuss the event support fund please contact the office on 01926 402173 or [email protected]

* If the show is cancelled by the local promoter they become liable in the first instance for the full company cancellation fee appertaining at the time of the cancellation.

** E.g. If the minimum guaranteed fee is £370 then the minimum you would have to pay after a full ESF award is £185.
