Coleshill is a historic coaching town known for its charm, culture, and close-knit community; its high street is lined with independent shops, supported by a thriving partnership group that works together to enrich town life with regular events like the annual Christmas light switch-on. Creative Coleshill aims to celebrate both tradition and innovation, connecting local artists, residents, and organizations to create inspiring projects and community events.
A Town with a Rich History and Active Community Life
Coleshill’s heritage is beautifully preserved in its centuries-old buildings and historic church, which date back to the 1600s. The town also has a proud tradition of service, with many families connected to the British Army. This legacy lives on today through an active Royal British Legion chapter, which plays a central role in town life, supporting ex-service families and organizing community events.
The town’s strong community spirit extends to its lively arts scene. With two theatre groups staging multiple productions each year, plus local choirs, singing groups, and a town band, there’s always an opportunity for residents to enjoy or participate in live performances. Creative Coleshill fosters this creativity by providing even more opportunities to gather and celebrate together.
Bringing Creative Events to the Heart of Coleshill
This past summer, we hosted an outdoor sing-along screening of Grease, which brought the community together for a night of fun and nostalgia under the stars. With its mix of creativity and inclusivity, Creative Coleshill is always looking for ways to bring something special to the town.
