Narrated by the legendary David Attenborough, this documentary takes viewers on an awe-inspiring journey beneath the waves, exploring the critical role our oceans play in sustaining life on Earth.

We are proud to host this Opening Gala in partnership with Stratford Net Zero and River Hope, who will facilitate a post screening panel discussion with special guests in the environmental sector with advise on what we can all do to help make a difference.

Attenborough’s storytelling unfolds against stunning cinematography, revealing vibrant coral reefs, towering kelp forests and the vast open ocean. Through these breathtaking sequences, he demonstrates how a thriving ocean supports the planet’s stability and prosperity.

The film does not shy away from the challenges - highlighting threats like destructive fishing practices and widespread coral bleaching - but ultimately offers a message of hope. With remarkable examples of ocean recovery from around the world, Attenborough reminds us that our oceans’ resilience is stronger than we realise and that restoring its health and glory is within our grasp.
