The Music of Trees is a unique show created by award-winning guitarist and composer Geoff Robb. The show features new compositions inspired by the trees of Sussex that are woven together with the secrets of how trees survive as species and tree folklore.

Geoff Robb has spent a lot of time with his guitar in the woodlands of Sussex, growing his connection with individual trees.

Compositions include The Willow, Silver Birch, Cherry, Holm Oak and The Linden Tree as he blends his classical and jazz training with his love of Spanish and Celtic music to write beautiful pieces that will transport you into the forest.

Speaking about the creation of the show, Geoff says, “I researched the science and mythology of trees and realised that combining talking about trees with my music was a winning combination. Trees are amazing and we are only just beginning to understand the many ways they have of communicating with each other. Using the fungal systems attached to their roots and through the chemicals they release into the air, they are in constant communication with each other.”

He has performed to audiences all over the UK and Europe at venues ranging from Buckingham Palace and The House of Commons to Glastonbury Festival.

'Very talented – makes the guitar sound like two guitars and a piano' (BBC Southern Counties Radio).
