Our Environmental Aims...

Live & Local recognises that the environmental and climate crisis is the most significant challenge facing all of us. We're committed to reducing the environmental impact of our business operations and to embed Environmental Responsibility as a core value across the company and our operations and stakeholders.

On this page you can find our Environmental Responsibility policy, our Promoters Green Rider and find out more about what we're doing to support our green aims.

Carbon Literacy Training

We’re proud to share that our Environmental Champion, Emily, has successfully completed comprehensive training and is now certified as carbon literate. This training has been instrumental in deepening our entire team's understanding of the climate crisis. We've gained valuable insights into the impact of carbon emissions and the urgent need for climate action. Inspired by this knowledge, we are motivated to implement meaningful changes and adopt more sustainable practices throughout our operations.

Our Promoter Green Rider

The aim of the Green Rider is to offer suggestions on ways in which we can work together with our promoter network to reduce the environmental impact of our touring scheme and promote environmental sustainability in all aspects of performance and travel. Together we can ensure a positive impact on the environment and set a standard for future performances.

Everyday changes

We know small changes make a big difference. That’s why we’re cutting our carbon footprint with everyday actions. Our hybrid work setup reduces commuting, and we’ve introduced office recycling and composting. We use a low-energy refurbished printer with recyclable toner, recycled paper where possible and repurpose scrap and shredded paper. There's lots more and we have an environmental responsiblity action plan which we renew annually. Get in touch if you'd like to see a copy or know more!

Thoughtful Programming

We always look for opportunities to minimise our environmental impact when planning our events. This includes featuring eco-conscious artists, making thoughtful travel arrangements and platforming environmentally focused films at our Big Picture Film Festival. Our mission is not only to reduce our own carbon footprint but also to support and inspire others to do the same.

Growing a greener future together...

Our team is committed to sustainability and playing our part in addressing the climate crisis. In addition to everyday practices like recycling and minimising waste, we also collaborate on larger initiatives such as litter picks and tree planting.

Our Environmental Ambassadors

To support our goals, Live & Local has appointed an Environmental Ambassador Community Group at the Doe Lea Resource Centre, along with an Environmental Ambassador Artist, Mumbo Jumbo, to help deepen our understanding of the impact of our work. We look forward to working together with these and other Promoters and Artists in the coming years. If you have some great environmental initiatives you've been involved with - get in touch - we'd love to hear more!
