Trunk, tail, ears or wings? Carnival creates itself from all sorts of things!

Inspired by Saint-Saens' fantastic and humorous suite of music 'The Carnival of the Animals', and with a little help from Charles Darwin and a whole lot of cardboard, this creative and charming puppet show is a really magical delight.

Split into different short sections, each about a different animal, 'The Carnival of the Animals' is a great introduction to classical music for the very young. The set and many of the fantastic puppets, from regal lion and dumpy elephant, to elegant swan and playful chicken, and a wonderful tortoise in a tutu, are built of cardboard – boxes, packaging, eggboxes and shredding. An imaginative, spellbinding and sometimes bonkers show to keep kids entertained every step of the way.

Part of the Live & Local Launchpad CYP programme (firing the imagination of children and young people).

'The music is beautiful, funny, and clever all at once.' Classic FM (on Camille Saint-Saëns' 'The Carnival of the Animals')

'Lempen Puppet Theatre Company always makes things magic - a very special quality!' Ilkley Literature Festival

'Truly impressive.' Bristol Post
