Live and Local - Surprising Shows In Surprising Places

Live & Local were thrilled with the fantastic response to an Open Evening held at the Allen Memorial Hall in Wombourne on the 11 February.

The event was organised in partnership with South Staffordshire Community and Voluntary Action with the aim to give local people further information about the Live & Local Community Touring Scheme and an opportunity to discuss ideas about how they can help to bring professional live entertainment to their community.

The event was attended by a wide range of local groups and residents, many of whom were interested in getting involved, from supporting events as audience members, to becoming promoters or supporting special projects. Live & Local will be following up all the ideas and expressions of interest put forward at the meeting and hope that as a result they will be able to help support new events in Wombourne and surrounding villages as well as exploring possibilities to initiate some new projects.

Live & Local supports over 130 community groups from across Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Derbyshire, helping volunteers to promote high quality, affordable, memorable and uplifting live entertainment in local community venues.
