A Steampunk Circus meets an Anime Adventure, Stinxville is a rich mix for the run up to Christmas.

The show has a Wacky Races feel to it with great Moulin Rouge meets Wizard of Oz costumes, and features 5 crazy characters singing, dancing and drawing you into their strange world with gentle audience participation, including the chance to shout out and join in the showbiz patter!

The whole piece is in the tradition of travelling mummers and village festivals. They encourage audiences to dress up for the event if they wish (music hall cossies, CanCan, Moulin Rouge outfits etc). The action takes place in the Wicked City and follows a quest for cake and glory. It moves between 5 mini theatre sets around your hall which are the different locations for the characters to encounter comedy mishaps. There’s a music-hall theatre, a prison cell and a Victorian Courtroom, and your audience will move from one to the other, learning simple songs and a dance as well as ‘becoming’ the jury in a trial.

The larger than life colourfully characters in this show seem to have stepped off the stage of a bonkers Music Hall and have great names – hapless Little Pleb who finds his fortune then loses it, The Wicked Taylor and Can Can troupe The Crazy Janes (fab frocks, bad attitudes). There are plenty of silly antics when they all come to blows. Look out for the slow-motion Kung-Fu fight and watch out for the Stinky Green Fairy! Music is up-tempo Gyspy band meets crazy Mariachi band and will blow the cobwebs away for anyone expecting Christmas songs.

Arletty Theatre’s previous shows for us 'Swan Canaries' and ‘Quilter and the Ghost’ showed their warm connection with an audience. Clear, entertaining storytelling, with songs and music, a sense of energy and great fun makes them a good choice for a venue trying theatre for the first time.

"It's just beautiful! It fills me with joy....Ridiculously entertaining!...Brilliant! You can join in as much or as little as you like." Audience quotes for Stinxville
