Roving Crows have been carving out their niche in the UK folk music scene since early 2009. Over ten years and evolving incarnations Roving Crows have cultivated an arresting, singular sound that pushes the boundaries of the Celtic folk-rock genre. The band play with genuine passion, energy and soul. Vital and vibrant, they showcase a mix of fiery, Celtic-inspired fiddle and intelligent lyrics, backed by pounding tribal rhythms and electronica. Alhough based in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire, they sound like a classic Irish band, whether on reworked reels and epic treatments of songs from Christy Moore's repertoire, or on original and poignant story-songs or furious stomps written by the singer Paul O'Neill. 'Just pure musical energy. Tight rhythms, great on-stage personality, proper up-on-the-tables-kicking-over-the-beer-glasses fun-time music… genuinely the next big thing on the folk scene.' BBC Music 'Great party music… I love that band.' Paul O'Grady, BBC Radio 2 'Really individual Celtic folk rock group.' Mike Harding, BBC Radio 2 'Outstanding.' Time Out Magazine '[This] band has a lush, distinctive sound all its own. Up-tempo… full of traditionally inspired tones. Roving Crows soar.' Washington Times ★★★★ Financial Times
