Performance date and time

7:30 PM

Be transported back to Hardy’s Wessex with characters inspired from ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’. Set at the May Day Celebrations, ‘Black Treacle’ will immerse you in the raucous joviality of a 19th century fete where Hardy’s Tess meets Angel Clare and the drama unfolds. Featuring live folk music and dancing, ‘Black Treacle’ transports the audience to Wessex where Hardy’s lyricism and his love of rural life is never more delightful and enticing. Following on from their hit shows It is Now and Think of England, Anonymous is a Woman’s work is artistically bold and specifically for rural audiences.
