Described as ‘Downton Abbey with gardening tips’ (Surrey Advertiser), 'Old Herbaceous' is a one man play about a retired head gardener Herbert Pinnegar played by Giles Shenton. Set somewhere in the 70s, Herbert invites the audience into his greenhouse where his stories take the audience through his time growing up in the 1900's, through both world wars and his years of service to his employer and lady of the manor, Lady Charteris. An acute and often hilarious observation of relationships between the classes in a simpler age, 'Old Herbaceous' is sprinkled with witticisms and epithets. 'Old Herbaceous' leaves you with a feeling that, perhaps, all's right with the world.

'Pitch-perfect comedy.' The Telegraph 'Timeless appeal.' The Independent 'Not to be missed.' BBC Radio Kent
