Football. Some love it, others loathe it, but we can’t deny that it is somehow present in all of our lives. The Beautiful Game by Nottingham-based Next Door Dance is a laugh-out-loud look at Britain’s undying obsession with football, celebrating everything from weird match day rituals to ridiculous arm chair punditry. It may even attempt to explain the offside rule. Packed with unforgettable goals, chant-a-long hits and full to the brim with nostalgia this show will have you casting your mind back to fixtures gone by. It is a show for the whole family; the fanatic, the impartial spectator and the football widow. Even if you don’t like football, The Beautiful Game will persuade you of its charms. The Beautiful Game is funny, engaging and energetic. They use real commentary from famous goals to reimagine familiar footballing moments. You could really go to town creating a match day atmosphere with decorations, food, encouraging your audience to dress in their team colours etc. Wraparound: Have fun in the pre-show Fan Zone- a football photobooth, table football, silly games and footie trivia, hosted by the company. This is a brilliant way to get people chatting and create a match day feel in your village hall!
