Presented by George Egg
Performance date and time
Saturday, 12th October 2019
In his latest DIY delicatessen show, funny-man George Egg brings a few unusual ingredients to the table - namely power tools, gardening equipment and an office supply or two – in a show that combines stand-up comedy with stand-out cuisine. If you like your dinner served with a hearty portion of humour, order up! How did Egg start whipping up meals at the bottom of his garden, or serving moules and frites in a spade? It all began when his doctor demanded that he rethink his diet and so his family banned him from using the kitchen. They couldn’t keep his creative urge to cook down, however, so in resorting to desperate measures he found that he could create fabulous meals with the most unlikely of implements all found in his garden shed. This is ‘a hilarious show, with surprisingly good food’ (The Times), and one which will leave audiences reappraising the contents of their shed for their next dinner party. Following two sell out years in a row at the Edinburgh Fringe, award-winning comedian George Egg returns with this brand-new show. It’s full to the brim with invention and crosses genres in that it’s as much a classic comedy routine – complete with Egg’s off-the-cuff wit - as it is a Saturday morning cooking programme on telly. Audiences laugh, learn something new and taste delicious grub at the end of the night, making for a fully-fleshed experience of a show. ‘It's a hilarious show, with surprisingly good food.’ The Times ‘It is refreshing to encounter a performer who really is unique.’ The Telegraph ‘An ingenious show and one that's surely going to get its own TV series.’ The Herald
'Absolutely glorious. Trust us, you won't believe how good the food is.' The Scotsman 'It's a hilarious show, with surprisingly good food.' The Times ★★★★ 'Go see George Egg... brilliant.' Jay Rayner, The Observer
