Three brilliant fiddle players bring the rich and distinctive folk traditions of their native Norway, Sweden and Shetland alive in a unique and invigorating collaboration. Pure fiddle doesn't get much better than this. _________________________________________________________________

Olav Luksengård Mjelva (Norway): Hardanger fiddle

Anders Hall (Sweden): fiddle, viola, Hardanger fiddle

Kevin Henderson (Shetland): fiddle

Individually regarded as three of the finest fiddle players currently working in the international folk music scene, collectively they attract huge critical acclaim and find themselves increasingly in demand across the world due to this unique collaboration.

Norway, Sweden and Shetland have three of the richest fiddle traditions in the world, with documented historical links going back hundreds of years. By combining the three distinctive fiddles styles of their respective countries - and their clever use of harmony, rhythm, riffs and bass lines - the Nordic Fiddlers Bloc create a special musical sound that's unique, intense and invigorating, and that leaves the listener enthralled.

While remaining faithful to the roots of each tradition, the central experience is of happy, vibrant music-making - some of the tunes are plain, flat-out fun, some are just so gorgeous that you wish they wouldn't end - while their live show is peppered through with significant amounts of onstage good humour and banter.
