In this specially commissioned new show from one of Ireland's most celebrated playwrights, the award-winning Deirdre Kinahan (Old Vic, Royal Court, BBC Radio 4), two outstanding and acclaimed theatre companies join forces to tell two interconnected tales, set 100 years apart but both taking place in the same village hall.

In 1919, Margaret's life collides with that of Grace, who knew Margaret's late brother in the Great War - and the course of both their futures is changed. Fast-forward to 2019 where Seán can't find his mother to meet Mirjana from the homecare company. Mirjana escaped the war in Sarajevo as a teenager. The village hall has been her solace and proves an unlikely link between the two.

Combining powerful storytelling, live music and a waltz or two, this beautifully crafted play is performed by a superb duo, full of vivid language and smart insight.

Part of the First World War Centenary Programme (vibrant arts experiences connecting current and future generations with the lives, stories and impact of the First World War). New Perspectives Theatre and Pentabus Theatre are supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

'Intimate, affecting and quietly radical village hall theatre.' The Stage ★★★★ The Guardian (on New Perspectives) ★★★★ The Stage (on Pentabus)
