Dreaming the Night Field: a legend of Wales transports audiences to the living landscapes of North Wales and the shining night sky, to discover a world bristling with life, filled with animals, constellations and people caught between creation and destruction. The story is based on the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogion, one of Wales’ ancient, treasured legends. This 90 minute bilingual performance is vivid, dynamic and involving, includes traditional and new music (songs, harp, accordion, drums) and is thrilling, funny, powerful and poetic, filled with parallels to our own time. Three performers, award winning storyteller Michael Harvey (Creative Wales Major Award), singer Lynne Denman, composer / musician Stacey Blythe. The music is performed live and is a mix of re-imagined folk songs and new music in a folk style.
'An incredible epic telling of the Fourth Branch of the Mabinogion received a well-deserved standing ovation.' Wales Arts Review
